New signing – celebrity chef!

The Club has announced the signing of celebrity chef Paul Heathcote MBE,  although we are talking catering and not cricket!  Paul joins us in the role of catering consultant, where he will work closely with our in-house catering team, to create and develop the culinary offerings for The Point.

Paul and his management team at Heathcotes Outside will be assisting us as we look to build on the success we have enjoyed for many years. Geoff Durbin, LCCC’s Commercial Director, said, “At LCCC, we have always focussed on providing very high standards of food and service to our customers. The Lancashire Catering Team have an excellent reputation, and the addition of Paul in an advisory capacity will bring another dimension to the team, which will guarantee a winning combination.”

Paul is a Lancashire lad, born in Farnworth, and a regular face on TV cooking shows. He owns 11 restaurants, is a winner of the Egon Ronay Chef of the Year, and the only chef in the North West to be awarded 2 Michelin stars. He is one of a handful of people in the hospitality sector to pick up a third Catey (the industry’s equivalent of an Oscar).

Paul said, “I am delighted that myself and the team at Heathcotes Outside  will have the opportunity to work closely with LCCC. Anybody who has had the chance to look at this new world-class venue can only be nothing but impressed. I am confident that we can help and support the existing team to help fulfill its ambitions; however, I won’t be available on Wednesdays in the summer unless I am dropped by my local village cricket team!” Looks like we have some more contenders for the staff cricket match then.

 In additiion to his focus on The Point, Paul will also be involved in other aspects of the catering operation. Hopefully this is the beginning of a close and long-running partnership.
