THE CUTTING EDGE OF EVENT HOSPITALITY

It has been decided to place a time capsule in the foyer of the new suite The Point, prior to its opening in the summer.

To assist with this project, students from nearby Stretford High, Project 7 Key Stage 3, have been invited to help decide what should go inside it.

Consequently, the students and teachers were shown around the ground, including the on-site hotel, The Old Trafford Lodge, players’ dressing rooms, practise nets and fitness centre.

Project 7 teaches students key research skills in much more depth than would be possible in separate subjects. They will be using these skills to help them decide which objects should go into the box.

At the end of their visit, the students were allowed onto the hallowed pitch for a quick photo shoot. Maybe this photo will end up in the Time Capsule, who knows?

Stretford High’s Chris Hurst, subject leader of Project 7 said, “We are very fortunate to have such an historic sports stadium on our doorstep which has opened its doors to our school.”  The visit was part of an association between LCCC and Stretford High School, that will lead to further departments and their students visiting Old Trafford.
